Warranty

Purchasing

Why do I need a Warranty?

There are many reasons to purchase an AWN Warranty. Your motor vehicle is one of your biggest investments that has literally thousands of moving parts combined with the latest in computer technology. The risk of mechanical breakdown is completely random, therefore you need protection. With an AWN Warranty, you can be assured of returning your motor vehicle to the best mechanical condition possible. With the complexity of today's motor vehicles, one medium-size repair costs more than the Warranty.

How do I purchase an AWN Warranty?

AWN warranties are available from most reputable Licensed Motor Dealers. You can take out an AWN Warranty for coverage terms of 12 months, 24 months, or 36 months. Coverage is effective immediately upon acceptance of your Application and receipt of your premium to AWN.

Do all motor vehicles qualify for an AWN Warranty?

AWN has a qualifying criteria for different coverages but can offer coverage to all motor vehicles over $3000. Please refer to the coverage section of this website, which will give you more comprehensive information available to suit your motor vehicle.

What do I do if I want an AWN Warranty, but the Motor Dealer I am looking to buy a motor vehicle from does not have AWN Warranty products?

Have the Motor Dealer contact our office. Providing they qualify with our criteria, we can provide them with our Warranty products, or we can provide you with a list of Approved Motor Dealers that specialise in the type of motor vehicle you are looking for in your local area.

Claims

How do I make a claim?

  1. Read your Warranty Contract carefully. Make sure your claim is covered under your particular Warranty.
  2. Telephone, email or write to AWN. Full contact details can be found here.
  3. Quote your Warranty number, registration number and odometer reading.
  4. Explain fully the nature of the problem, remembering that you are required to disclose to AWN all information which is relevant in assisting AWN to consider your claim. If you fail to disclose such information, your rights to any claim may be seriously affected.
  5. Upon receipt of the above information, AWN will process and consider your claim.

Do I have to pay the Approved Repairer and wait for reimbursement?

No, not at all. All claims are settled directly with our Approved Repairer. As long as there has been an AWN authority number given to the Approved Repairer, the bill will be directed to AWN.

Can I claim more than once on my Warranty?

All coverages of AWN as well as having generous claim limits allow for a multiple of claims within the Warranty period.

Servicing

Where can I service my vehicle?

You can service your motor vehicle at any licensed "A" grade mechanical workshop of your choice, or find a workshop with our Approved Repairer signage in your local area.

Why do I have to mail in copies of my service invoices?

If the unfortunate happens (i.e. A breakdown), our aim is to get you back on the road ASAP. In order to do so, your service history must be up to date. By not sending in your service receipts/coupons, it may delay processing of your claim.

How often do I have to service my motor vehicle?

Depending upon your motor vehicle's age and/or kilometres travelled, your servicing requirements may vary. In most cases, it will be six (6) months or ten thousand (10,000) kilometres, whichever occurs first. Please refer to your Warranty booklet for full terms and conditions.

What do I do when I've used all the Service Slips in my Warranty booklet?

Simply contact our Head Office and we will mail you additional Service Slips:

Transfer

I am selling my motor vehicle. Can I transfer the Warranty?

In most cases, yes. Advertising your motor vehicle with a Warranty adds value, an advantage over other private-to-private sellers. For full Terms and Conditions, refer to your Warranty Contract.

Cancellation

I have just purchased a new motor vehicle with a Warranty, but money is tight. Can I cancel the Warranty?

As a general rule, our products cannot be cancelled unless an interested Finance Company in possession of default and reposession papers has requested it.
